Employee Spotlight: Frank Giglia

Every successful project at Domani Consulting is powered by dedicated professionals who know how to navigate the complexities of New York City's regulatory landscape. This month, we're proud to spotlight Frank Giglia, a long-time project manager whose persistence and team-first attitude have made him an invaluable part of our organization since joining the company in the summer of 2020.

A Family Connection to the Industry

For Frank, construction and project management have always felt like a natural fit.

"My father and brother both worked and still work in the field, so I guess it's in my blood," he says.

After attending Fordham University, Frank brought that lifelong interest to Domani Consulting, where he has steadily expanded his expertise across nearly every aspect of the permitting and compliance process.

Wearing Many Hats

Frank's journey at Domani began during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, primarily handling After Hours Variance (AHV) permits. It didn't take long, however, for his responsibilities to grow. Today, his work spans a wide variety of services, including Tenant Protection Plans (TPPs), hydrant permits, Temporary Certificates of Occupancy (TCOs), alteration filings, and much more.

As the team's primary resource for TPPs and smaller alteration filings, no two days are ever quite the same. The diversity of his workload keeps every project engaging while allowing him to continuously build upon his knowledge of New York City's permitting process.

One project that stands out is his ongoing work alongside Director John Sullivan on Chick-fil-A restaurant developments throughout New York City. Supporting a nationally recognized brand has provided Frank with a unique perspective on managing multiple projects simultaneously while working with a consistent project team.

"Each location has its own challenges," Frank explains, "but working with the same team means we already have the relationships and experience to solve issues quickly. It's rewarding to watch these restaurants open and see how excited the surrounding neighborhoods are when they do."

The Strength of Teamwork

When asked what he enjoys most about working at Domani Consulting, Frank's answer comes quickly: the people.

"We have a great team that's personable and always willing to help each other out to do what's best for our clients."

That collaborative culture is especially valuable when navigating the many agencies involved in New York City construction. Each department has its own procedures, interpretations, and requirements, creating challenges that often require persistence and creative problem-solving.

"There have been plenty of times where we've disagreed with an agency's interpretation of a project," Frank says. "That's when having an experienced team really makes a difference. Someone always knows how to present the case, who to speak with, or what path to take to keep the project moving."

For Frank, one lesson has remained constant throughout his career: never stop pushing forward.

"In this business, there's always a way through the red tape."

Beyond the Office

Outside of project management, Frank has another creative outlet that surprises many people.

He's the author of two historical fantasy fiction novels, both available on Amazon.

Whether he's navigating city agencies or crafting stories on the page, Frank brings the same persistence, creativity, and attention to detail to everything he does.

We're proud to recognize Frank Giglia for his hard work, adaptability, and commitment to both our clients and our team. His willingness to take on new challenges and help move projects forward every day embodies the collaborative spirit that defines Domani Consulting.
